At present the government are developing a new Affordable Childcare Scheme. The first measures of the scheme will come in September 2017. Full information is available at: affordablechildcare.ie
However, the following should be noted:
For all: there is no new means tested payment at present.
The new universal childcare subsidy will mean €20 off full-time childcare fees, per week, for parents of children from 6 months to 3 years. This can be applied for directly with the childcare service in September 2017.
For those who hold a medical card and/or are on a social welfare payment there may be a further entitlement to increased payments (amounts for existing schemes are going up), full information on this is available at: affordablechildcare.ie
Please go ahead and register for CCSP, which includes CCSU. You will then be in a position to offer the new scheme to parents in September.
