The Future of Funding for Early Learning and Care and School aged childcare - Parent's Consultation

Parents - you are invited to participate in a focused discussion for parents on a major project currently underway in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth on the development of a new Funding Model for early learning and care and school-age Childcare.

These discussions are part of a broader national conversation with a range of key stakeholders on how we fund early learning and care and school-age childcare services and how additional funding can be used to improve quality for children, address issues of accessibility and affordability for parents and sustainability for service providers. Already providers, practitioners and representative organisations have been having their say.

We will be hosting a number of online focused discussions with parents from 23 November 2020.
The duration of these discussions will take 60 minutes and will be inclusive and informal. We want to hear more about the things that are most important to you as parents of children under 15 years old. No prior knowledge of early learning and care or school-age childcare is needed.

Parents sessions will run on the following dates and times: • 23 November: 20.30 – 21.30 • 24 November: 13.00 – 14.00 • 24 November: 20.30 – 21.30 • 25 November: 20.30 – 21.30 • 26 November: 20.30 – 21.30 • 02 December: 20.30 – 21.30 To register for these parents events, please go to: s-discussion-on-early-learning-andcare-and-school-age-childcaretickets-128611090233 Further information about the new funding model for early learning and care and school-age childcare is available here: ublic-consultation/ If you have any questions, please email
